Dr Emanuele Galiffi is an incoming Assistant Professor at the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Texas at Austin.
Our group's research focuses on exotic wave phenomena in electromagnetism, nanophotonics, acoustics and elasticity. We are especially interested in classical and quantum electrodynamics in time-varying media, which can produce exotic effects, such as time-reflection, nonreciprocity and amplification. We also study low-symmetry materials and metamaterials, and investigate novel strategies to produce extreme wave-matter interactions in photonics and acoustics.
If you are interested in joining our group as an undergraduate/graduate student, or as a postdoc, please reach out to egaliffi[at]utexas.edu, including a CV, transcript and cover letter.
